Overview
The Activate app on theme setting in iCart allows you to select which theme the app should be active on. This is helpful if you want to test iCart on a draft (unpublished) theme before making it live on your store.
Only one theme can have iCart active at a time.
How to activate iCart on a theme
- From your iCart dashboard, go to Settings > General Settings.
- Look for the section titled Activate app on themes.
- Click the dropdown menu — you'll see a list of all the themes installed in your Shopify store (published and unpublished).
- Select the theme where you want iCart to be active.
For example, if you'd like to test iCart on an unpublished theme instead of your live store, just select the draft theme from the list. iCart will activate only for the selected theme.
🔔 Important Notes
- iCart will be active only on the selected theme.
- If you choose an unpublished theme, iCart features will not appear on the live store until you publish that theme.
- If you switch to another theme later, you’ll need to manually activate iCart again for that theme using the same dropdown.
✅ Don’t forget:
Whatever theme you’ve selected from the dropdown, please make sure to activate the iCart app embed block from the Shopify theme customizer.
This step is required for iCart to function properly in the selected theme. Alternatively, you can enable or disable the app using the App Enable/Disable settings in iCart.
